Centenarians, immortality & longevity.
To live much longer and in full health has been humanity’s oldest dream. Every culture has cherished practices to offer the possibility of immortality or very long life. Mental and spiritual regimes, elixirs, black magic, diets, arcane sexual practices, and science enlisted to hold death at bay. Being blessed and cursed with the ability to remember, the past, live in the present and imagine the future, people from the earliest cultures to the present have tried to stop or at least significant slow the process of bodily deterioration. People who are born healthy can grow very old and still remain in good health. Most of them will, however, die long before their potential Biological Old Age is reached. Your lifestyle and dietary choices can make an enormous difference to your lifespan and to your quality of life in later years. The formula of longevity is not quite complex or a secret. In most cases it is important to avoid certain foods & activities. However since immortality is out of reach for many of us, many are prepared to gladly settle for a lesser fate, to grow old in good health and with vitality. For this reason the author did separate centenarian and immortality.
Healthy food and lifestyles, anti aging fruits, fasting, mind foods and the environment play an important part as far as the human body is concerned.
But there is a spiritual aspect as well, meaning the difference between let say one hundred years and one thousand years. Time is an aspect of matter and nobody can deny or escape it. Spirituality, ideas and dreams do not contain matter and are not ruled by Time. (Infinite) The old ones did associate Time with; matter, corruption and destruction. It is therefore important to reduce the impact of materialism on your live and lifestyle as much as possible
